Rashid Al Dhaheri Secures Historic Win at UAE F4 Championship on Home Soil

In a remarkable display of skill and perseverance, Rashid Al Dhaheri, the young motorsports racer, clinched his first-ever victory in the F4 category on home soil at the UAE F4 Championship, this weekend. This significant achievement makes him the only Emirati on the grid to secure a victory in the F4 UAE Championship 2024 season.

The journey to this historic win began with meticulous preparations during the race weekend. Starting with two test sessions, the team focused on race simulation, set up adjustments, and optimizing the car’s performance for the qualifying rounds. Despite facing rains in Abu Dhabi, the team adapted seamlessly, showcasing their resilience.

Saturday marked a pivotal moment as Rashid secured his first-ever pole position in F4, navigating through the challenging weather conditions. Reflecting on the weekend, Rashid commented, “It was quite a tough weekend due to the rains in Abu Dhabi. Adapting to the new obstacle was crucial, but the team did an excellent job, securing pole position after Q1 and Q2.”

In Race 1, Rashid demonstrated his capabilities by gaining positions and finishing at an impressive second place. In Race 2, starting from the 11th position due to the reverse grid rule, Rashid showcased his skills in the rain, finishing in an admirable sixth place. The highlight of the weekend was Race 3, where Rashid faced mental stress and extreme pressure, starting from pole position under changing weather conditions. However, fortunately against all odds, he emerged victorious, securing his first-ever F4 win on home soil.

Rashid’s remarkable achievement not only adds a significant milestone to his racing career but also serves as inspiration for aspiring young racers. Many local motorsport enthusiasts flocked to Yas Marina Circuit to witness Rashid’s triumph, further fuelling their own motivation.

Al Dhaheri’s performances over the weekend has showcased his ability to adapt, excel under pressure, and make history. Reflecting on his win, he said, “The intensity of Race 2, starting from the 11th position in the rain was quite hectic. Overtaking was challenging with the spray, making visibility difficult. Race 3, one of the hardest races, with changing conditions, was emotionally taxing. Winning at the track where I fell in love with this sport 12 years ago, just a few kilometres from my house, is truly special. More so, this victory stands as a tribute to my country, expressing gratitude for the unwavering support and encouragement.”

The young driver continues to carve his path in the world of motorsports, leaving an indelible mark on the UAE F4 Championship and inspiring future generations of racers.
