Las Vegas, NV – January 11, 2024 – Kia has redefined the future of mobility at CES 2024 with the debut of its groundbreaking Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV). Moving beyond traditional cars, Kia’s PBVs offer a versatile platform with the potential to “answer all questions” regarding individual and commercial transportation needs.

Through customized vehicles and solutions, Kia’s PBVs unlock a new era of diversity and opportunity for businesses and lifestyles. Unveiling its future product lineup and comprehensive business strategy at CES, Kia showcased five concept vehicles: three PV5 models, the spacious PV7, and the compact PV1. The highly anticipated PV5 is set for mass production in 2025, marking the beginning of a transformative journey in mobility.

A Blank Canvas for Redefining Space:

Kia’s PBVs offer users a blank canvas for reimagining space and mobility through unparalleled modularity. The platform adapts to individual needs, enabling endless possibilities. Kia’s three-phase PBV roadmap ensures continuous evolution:

  • Phase 1: Introduces the versatile electric PV5, optimized for key areas like transportation, delivery, and facilities.
  • Phase 2: Completes the PBV lineup and develops advanced software and customized services.
  • Phase 3: Transforms PBVs into fully customizable mobility solutions integrated with the future mobility ecosystem.

Designed for Effortless Life:

Kia’s PBVs prioritize user-friendliness and intuitive interaction, regardless of location, time, or purpose. Unified design quality across models reflects their robust nature and capable stance. Every feature serves a practical purpose, simplifying life for users.

The combination of bold surface styling and expressive graphics unifies the diverse PV5 models. Large doors open to reveal spacious, pillar-free interiors for effortless entry and exit. The extended wheelbase and electric platform create expansive, open layouts for endless storage and usage possibilities.

Kia’s commitment to sustainability takes center stage in PBV design. Extensive use of eco-friendly materials like bioplastics, recycled plastics, and bio-paint minimizes environmental impact while offering unique visual and tactile appeal.

Inspiration Becoming Reality:

Consistent design across all PBVs fosters a seamless ecosystem for enhanced interaction between autonomous vehicles. Comprehensive modularity, including shared features, unlocks endless possibilities for diverse needs.

Ready to Answer Any Question:

Kia’s dedicated PBV operating system will provide comprehensive clarity on all aspects of the platform, from product lineup to software integration and global partnerships. Customer-centric development processes ensure tailor-made solutions for every mission.

To meet diverse customer needs, Kia is constructing a dedicated PBV manufacturing facility in Hwaseong, Korea. Utilizing a hybrid production approach, the plant will start operation in 2025 with an annual capacity of 150,000 units.

Kia’s in-vehicle infotainment (IVI), fleet management system (FMS), and charging solutions leverage data-driven software and AI to deliver customer-centric solutions. The IVI system anticipates user preferences, providing relevant information and access to the Kia PBV App Market and third-party apps for seamless connectivity and entertainment on the go.

Kia’s fleet management solution empowers businesses with efficient multi-vehicle management, offering insights into sales, inventory, and delivery to optimize operations.

Kia’s revolutionary PBVs mark a transformative shift in the future of mobility. By offering a platform that goes beyond cars and “answers all questions,” Kia unlocks endless possibilities for individual and commercial transportation.
