TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Claims Brilliant One-Two Victory at 8 Hours of Bahrain

• Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi, and Nyck de Vries secure first place
• TGR extends Bahrain winning streak to nine consecutive races

Dubai, UAE – 11 November 2025: TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) concluded the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season on a high note with a spectacular one-two finish at 8 Hours of Bahrain. Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi, and Nyck de Vries delivered a peerless performance in the No. 7 Toyota GR010 Hypercar, converting pole position into victory and securing the team’s ninth consecutive win at the Bahrain International Circuit. Teammates Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley, and Ryo Hirakawa in the No. 8 Toyota GR010 Hypercar completed the perfect result in second place, finishing just 19.378 seconds behind the No.7 crew.

With spectators packed around the circuit and dedicated fans cheering on the team with TGR flags at the start and finish lines, the race began with Conway and Hartley holding first and second positions after a clean start from the front row. During the opening stints, the two Toyota GR010 Hypercars adopted different strategies, alternating between tire and fuel changes to optimize performance throughout the early stages. By the halfway point, both vehicles remained firmly in contention, with the No. 7 Toyota GR010 Hypercar maintaining a steady lead and the No. 8 Toyota GR010 Hypercar demonstrating consistent pace.

Following a brief setback earlier in the race, the No. 8 Toyota GR010 Hypercar crew showed impressive determination and teamwork to regain ground. Hirakawa and Hartley delivered strong stints that brought the vehicle back among the front runners. Out in front, Kobayashi extended the No. 7 Toyota GR010 Hypercar’s advantage through a series of quick and disciplined laps before handing over to de Vries for the final 80 minutes.

A late safety car gave all vehicles an opportunity to make their final pit stops and set up a tense finish. At the restart, de Vries controlled the pace confidently, while Buemi held firm to secure second place, completing a well-earned one-two finish for the team.

The victory marks a strong end to a challenging season and builds momentum heading into 2026. TGR will return next year with an updated Toyota GR010 Hypercar and an unchanged driver line-up. Conway, Kobayashi, and de Vries will race together for the third consecutive season, while Buemi, Hartley, and Hirakawa compete alongside each other for a fifth year.

Over the years, Toyota has been participating in many different forms of motorsports, including Formula One, World Rally Championship(WRC), the World Endurance Championship (WEC), and the Nürburgring 24 ‎Hours endurance race.
