(13 November 2024, Middle East) – MG Motor Middle East has officially launched the all-new MG5 across the Middle East, following its debut at the Jeddah International Motor Show in Saudi Arabia. This compact sedan combines bold design, advanced technology, and exceptional comfort, delivering outstanding value. With prices starting at USD 12,600 (excluding VAT, varying by market), the MG5 is an ideal choice for drivers seeking a stylish yet practical car.
The MG5 appeals to a broad range of buyers, from first-time owners to small families and young drivers. The British-born brand offers three trim levels across the Middle East—Standard (STD), Comfort (COM), and Deluxe (DEL)—to suit various preferences and budgets.
The entry-level STD trim features essentials like a multifunction steering wheel, parking radar, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The COM trim adds convenience with a rear-view camera and PVC leather seats. For a more premium experience, the top-tier DEL trim includes a 360-degree camera, power-adjustable driver’s seat, sunroof, six-speaker audio system, and a wireless phone charger. The STD and COM trims feature a 3.5-inch color instrument meter, while the DEL trim upgrades to a 12.3-inch virtual display for a refined interior feel.
In terms of design, the new MG5 presents a refreshed front with dynamic lines and a confident stance. The spacious interior comfortably seats five passengers and provides a 406-liter luggage capacity, balancing style with practicality.
The MG5’s interior also raises the bar in comfort with its Zero G seating, designed with a 20mm zero-gravity padding layer that offers a soft, supportive ride. The seats are crafted from eco-friendly microfiber leather and high-resilience foam, enhancing both comfort and durability.
The new MG5 is equipped with a 1.5L engine delivering 109 HP, paired with an 8-speed CVT transmission rigorously tested over 2.35 million kilometers for optimal reliability and performance. An intelligent throttle valve design ensures efficiency and longevity.
Designed for a refined driving experience, the MG5 features an advanced EPS (Electric Power Steering) system with PDC (Pull Drift Compensation) and TCS (Torque Steer Compensation) for stability and control in varying conditions. A U-beam semi-independent rear suspension enhances ride comfort by reducing stress and improving efficiency. Drivers can choose from three steering modes—Light, Standard, and Calm—for a tailored driving experience.
Safety is paramount in the new MG5, which boasts a high-strength cage body with ultra-high torsional stiffness and an advanced laser brazing process that enhances both body strength and sound insulation. The Super 360 Visual Assistance system provides a comprehensive view for safer parking and maneuvering. Safety features include dual front and side airbags in the STD and COM trims, with the DEL trim adding curtain airbags for enhanced protection.
