Dubai – Embodying the future of mobility and technology, Mercedes-Benz Middle East is displaying the EQXX and VISION One-Eleven cars at the GITEX Global 2023 exhibition in Dubai, where the company is displaying the VISION EQXX concept car, which showcases the possibilities of electric mobility in the digital and sustainable era. In addition to the VISION One-Eleven concept car, which represents the future of sports performance enhanced by advanced technology and stunning design.
GITEX Global is the largest technology exhibition in the region, bringing together the world’s most prominent innovation leaders, companies and individuals, to advance the business sector, economy, society and culture. This annual event takes place at the Dubai World Trade Center from October 16 to 20. The innovative concept cars are displayed at &e’s official pavilion, in partnership with Mercedes-Benz Cars Middle East.
As a platform aimed at stimulating technology and digital innovation, GITEX is the ideal event for Mercedes-Benz to showcase its pioneering cars that represent qualitative leaps in terms of design, technology, connectivity and modern luxury.
Heiko Günther, Vice President and Director of Sales, Customer Services and Business Development at Mercedes-Benz Middle East, said: “At Mercedes-Benz, we focus on pioneering technology to produce the most attractive cars in the world. The EQXX is more than just a show car, it represents a technological program to accelerate the pace of Transitioning to electric mobility by enhancing efficiency and driving range. Featuring an exceptionally creative design, the VISION One-Eleven is pushing the boundaries of innovation and technology. We are proud to present these concept cars at GITEX in partnership with &e to inspire visitors and give them a glimpse of what the future could look like. Mobility and technology.”
The EQXX was unveiled for the first time in November 2022 at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and this test car was able to achieve outstanding driving range and efficiency levels on the ground. This has been achieved through advanced electric transmission technology, highly efficient vehicle systems, and innovative aerodynamics. The car broke its own efficiency record, covering a distance of 1,202 kilometers from Stuttgart to Silverstone in the United Kingdom on a single battery charge, with an average energy consumption of 8.3 kWh/100 km, while the average speed was 83.0 km/h. The solar roof generated enough energy to cut Distance 43 km. Due to the superior recovery technology, enough energy was recovered to cover approximately 200 kilometers (about 16.6 kWh) – equivalent to ⅙ of the total distance.
The advanced electric drivetrain ensures 95% efficiency through an innovative motor design, reduced mechanical losses and significantly increased energy density of the battery pack. The battery in the EQXX has almost the same power as the battery in the Mercedes-Benz EQS, but is half the size and approximately 30% lighter.
As for the VISION One-Eleven, it was revealed for the first time in June 2023 at the Mercedes-Benz International Design Center in California. This car represents an advanced interpretation of the legendary C 111 concept cars from the 1970s. The pioneering sports car study combines a dynamic design language with innovative technologies for all-electric driving, making it a pioneer in both design and technology.
The supercar’s outlines are defined by the masterful execution of Mercedes-Benz’s signature One-Bow design, an indication of its style in the 21st century. With its simple yet powerful proportions, the all-electric two-seater concept revives the C 111, which was a pioneer of its time.
Technology highlights include an experimental new battery design with high-performance cylindrical cells, as well as YASA’s exceptionally powerful and advanced axial flux motor. Axial flux engines are smaller and lighter than radial engines, with longer lasting power reserves. This combination provides a whole new level of performance.
Inside, the VISION One-Eleven offers the first sports car interior with a lounge concept. The car reflects the paradigm shift from self-driving sports cars to self-driving electric cars within the super sports car sector, and it unites two very different worlds.
The EQXX and VISION One-Eleven were showcased at the German International Motor Show in September 2023, and the EQXX was subsequently showcased at the Geneva International Motor Show in Qatar in October 2023.
