Dubai, United Arab Emirates, October 3, 2023: Audi Middle East is preparing to launch the Test UrbanSPHERE for the first time in the region at the Future Museum of the Emirates on September 30. The UrbanSPHERE is the third and largest SPHERE car, which includes Skysphere, GrandSPHERE, and ActivesPhere, and seeks to make a qualitative shift in the future of mobility in cities thanks to its pioneering design and innovative technologies.

Audi Middle East continues its fruitful partnership with the Future Museum, as Audi offers its bold vision of the future of cars and its continuous commitment to promoting sustainable movement. This partnership provides an important opportunity for visitors to the Future Museum to see the latest innovations in the world of cars, capabilities, and modern designs that will be the future of mobility.

The experimental URBANSPHERE is designed by relying on the PRIMIMFORM ELECTRIC platform for the electrical movement system to contribute to upgrading city movement by providing superior performance with the ability to travel long distances without the need to recharge, as the stabilized battery capacity between the front and rear axes is 120 kW, with fast charging technology up to 270 kW at fast charging stations. The system also guarantees a high voltage of 800 volts for battery charging in a short time, making the UrbanSPhere ready to start at any time, as its battery can be charged from 5% to 25% in less than 25 minutes.

The URBANSPHERE receives passengers in a luxurious cabin that is designed to provide the highest levels of comfort and customization, as it provides a spacious atmosphere suitable for relaxation and enjoying the trip thanks to dispensing the traditional steering wheel and the front equipment board. The car provides passengers with a way to hide or show the steering wheel, pedals, and equipment board, and the design of the car seats, inspired by the plane seats in light colors and comfortable brushes that resemble the pillow, provides a sense of calm and tranquility during the flight. Modern control and communication options contribute to enhancing seamless integration between technologies, allowing passengers to communicate or relax during the trip.

The URBANSPHERE has great potential thanks to the many options that Audi provides and smooth integration between digital services, as these capabilities allow access to many services that enhance passenger trips. The car also has the ability to carry out daily driving tasks such as restaurants and online shopping from inside the car. The self-driving trial offers the highest level of comfort for passengers through the “integrated delivery” service, automatically vaccinating vacancies, and battery charging management. Audi also provides exclusive privileges for its customers, including access to distinguished experiences such as concerts, cultural events, and sporting activities to meet personal preferences and requirements. The exterior design of the experimental URBANSPHERE is characterized by elegance and superior dynamic aerobic capabilities, and the length of the experimental car is 5,51 meters (18 feet), 2.01 meters (6.6 feet), and a height of 1.78 meters (5.8 feet), which makes it one of the largest Audi experimental cars within the SPHERE group. The coconut and the inverted hexagon design reflect the distinctive features of the brand, whose cars are elegant and innovative. The front and rear lights are designed in the form of completely digital-width surfaces that consist of many triangular pixels, allowing the production of multi-use moving lighting.

The experimental URBANSPHERE adopts many principles of sustainable design, as many sustainable materials were used in the manufacture of the cabin, such as white beech wood scales; seat brushes made of Econylyl®, a substance of recycled nylon fiber; and fabric made of extracted materials from the bamboo plant in the manufacture of arms supports and the back part of the cabin. Dependence on sustainable materials reflects Audi’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact and enhancing environmentally friendly solutions.

“The offer of the UrbanSPhere in the Middle East is an important step for Audi and the region. The distinctive experimental car reflects our firm commitment to providing innovative transport solutions and provides an important overview of the future of luxury and environmentally friendly transport. Audi invites all car lovers to visit the Future Museum in order to seize this unique opportunity to watch the URBANSPHERE directly when displayed. “

Visitors to the Future Museum can learn about Audi’s bold vision of the future of movement and see the smooth integration between modern technologies, sustainability, and high comfort. The experimental UrbanSPHERE will be displayed in the museum at the “Our Future Today” exhibition until January 2024.
